Broke in six hours

Independence! Freedom!

Today was the last paper of my SCC finals. It all happened so quickly. After a month long struggle to get things into my mind for the exams, I have a ‘3 months long’ vacation now. Relief!

To celebrate this special occasion, we decided to go out for a movie. I had taken approximately 600 rupees along with me. The movie was idiotic. It was supposed to be funny and all hilarious but it wasn’t. The jokes were silly. I have a decided not to go for any movie until I get an approval from a source that can be trusted. The movie wasted my 3 hours and 190 rupees. I regret. We left the theater even before the interval.

Then, we decided to go to Gelato. I had an ice cream and a vegetable puff. There, I almost spent 100 rupees. We sat there. We were discussing about the movie and about the exams. My good mood came back. After an idiotic, head-ache causing movie, all you need is a good laugh. It all gets fixed.

Dinner time. We headed to a ‘nearby’ restaurant – just 3 kilometers away. Like hungry dogs we ate after the tiring walk, neglecting the thin column of ‘Prices’ on the right side of the menu. We asked for the bill. I noticed, that was the only restaurant that took time to make a bill. Or else the bill comes faster than the food. Perhaps they were trying to figure out something. Probably they were trying to digest the fact that even kids can eat so much. We did not mind leaving without paying the bill but we are good kids. We asked the waiter to get the bill as fast as possible. At last the bill arrived. My friend read it and almost passed away. It was Rs. 1185. That meant we all had to pay approximately 400 rupees. Shit! That meant my wallet would be empty. Shit again!Broke

With a heavy heart, we parted from our money. It was a sad moment. “How do we get home now?” was our next thought. All our money was spent. Luckily, one of my friends had 50 rupees. We walked half the way and then took a cab. She gave me all that she had. Even coins. Fortunately, the cab fare came up to Rs. 56. I gave the driver all that I had. 56 rupees was all that I had.

Learnt a lesson today: Look before you eat.

Happy Holi!

I wish all my readers a very Happy and a safe Holi.

Though I won’t be playing with colours (my exams are yet going on and so I wouldn’t like to take a risk), it’s a sincere request that you should all use natural colours and play safely.

Once again,
Happy Holi to all and enjoy your selfs!

Temporary Good-Bye

I have my final exams staring from 13th of this month and the last paper is on the 31st. That means, I won’t be writing any posts in that period.

See you after 31st. Good-Bye for now. And wish me luck for the exams.

What Goes Around… Comes Back Around

A very unusual but funny thing happened last week. I was home alone and my mom and dad were out for dinner. I was getting bored and so I did my favourite pastime – chewing-gum chewing. I put two in my mouth and was chewing away to happiness.

After some time, the flavour was no more. I stood up from my computer chair and went to the window. I was feeling too lazy to go to the dust-bin. Thoo…. I spat the chewing-gum out of the window. It went down and stuck itself on the ground.

In an hour or so, I heard the sound of a car engine. I knew that was my dad. I switched off my computer, took a book in my hand and acted as if I was studying. Ting Tong. That was my dad too. I walked up to the door, opened the door and welcomed them with an artificial smile. The one of a criminal (I wasn’t studying). My dad walked in and then my mom. She gave me a hug and went straight into her room.

My dad has a habit of roaming around in the house with his shoes on. That day was no exception. He came to me and then went inside. I wasn’t studying. I looked down. Shit! It was the chewing-gum. I would recognize it from the smell. It was the chewing-gum that I lazily spat out of the window. Now it was back home and it was everywhere. I told dad about it, he was very cool. “I am sorry. Why don’t you clean it?” said he.

Damn!

It took me precisely half-an-hour to clean the floor. Shit! I am not going to through any chewing-gums out of the window now.

This reminds me of Justin Timberlake’s song:
‘What goes around, goes around, goes around
Comes all the way back around’

SSC Final Exam

I am in the 10th standard. For those who don not know, here, in India, in Mumbai, 10th is the final and the deciding year. The State Government conducts an exam and on the results we get admission in any collage. It is the most crucial year.

My Board Exams are starting from 13th March and ending on 31st. The exam time-table is out and I am not even tensed! I am all chilled out. I even go and play for an hour or so; everyday. My first paper is English and the last is Gujarati.

Wish me luck and start praying so that my papers go to a lenient checker.

Peace.
