ME – Through the Years

Following are the pictures of ME since 2003. These are the pictures of my evolution from a boy of 10 with side parting and meager facial hair to a teen of 15 with funky hairstyle, little bit of mustache and French beard.

Age: 10
Comment: A boy with round, retro spectacles. I used to put a lot of gel on my hair that I thought looked really cool.

Year: 2005
Age: 12
Comment: I can’t believe I even had middle parting once. The spectacles were new and I faithfully wear them even today.

Year: 2006
Age: 13
Comment: Still had middle parting. I then started liking shorts.

Year: 2007
Age: 14
Comment:The same old spectacles. A little bent, but that’s OK. I started growing mustache. I did not have a hairstyle. I got a Cell Phone when I was 14.

Age: 15 (after my birthday, 15^th Aug.)
Comment: A teen with a funky hairstyle and mustache and French beard.

I know I have missed a year. I didn’t have my picture of 2004.

Marine Drive

For the Pakistan Home Stay program all the seeds in Mumbai had to select an area in Mumbai and click the pictures of that area. I chose Marine Drive. Now a little bit on Marine Drive for those who haven’t visited Mumbai. Marine Drive is a 3 km long boulevard in South Mumbai. The road links Nariman Point to Babulnath and Malabar Hill. Marine Drive is situated over reclaimed land and the bay is part of the Arabian Sea. The road is lined with palm trees. At the northern end of Marine Drive is Chowpatty Beach. This is a popular beach famed for its Bhel puri (local fast food). The wide footpath is a jogging track for many joggers. Early in the morning people come to Marine Drive for jogging, walking and exercising. Many hotels dot the drive, most prominent among them being The Hilton Towers (formerly the Oberoi), The Intercontinental, Hotel Marine Plaza and a few other smaller hotels. It is also know as the Queen’s Necklace because if viewed at night from an elevated point anywhere along the drive, the streetlights resemble a string of pearls.

I woke up at 6 am in the morning and went there with my dad. I clicked many pictures; all on my own. Seriously. Only a little bit of help from my dad about positioning. I have only uploaded a few pictures worthy of showing them to you all. Here is where you can see my pictures.

I am sure you have the time to leave behind a comment or two on how the pictures were. Can I chose Photography as my career? Never mind that. My mind is very unstable.

My First Poem

Inspired by my English Textbook, I have decided to write a Poem myself. I have decided to find the hidden bard inside me.

The work is under progress but pretty soon you will see the poem on my blog. I am keeping the title a secret for now but very soon it will be revealed.

Why Macs Suck

I came across this video while randomly surfing on YouTube. This video is darned funny man. I thought it would be great to show it you all (if you haven’t seen it already).

I use a PC. But I personally have no grudge against Macs.

God vs. Devil

There has been a very tough competition between God and Devil since olden times. God created humans and the Devil never missed a chance to spoil them and their health. This is what I believe.

God created green leafy vegetables and fruits for the humans to stay healthy. God always wanted the humans to eat right and stay fit; but the evil Devil then created pizzas, burgers and fries. Humans ate pizzas and fries and almost neglected the vegetables to increased their cholesterol level and went on becoming fat. God then recommended the humans to eat fresh salads. But the Devil made tempting ice creams to again increase the human fat.

Then, weary of the evil intentions of the Devil, God gave running shoes to human beings. Using those shoes, humans can at least walk or play to stay fit and reduce their weight – this is what God thought. But the Devil made TVs and then remote controls so that the humans can sit on their soft sofas like Kings and accumulate fat. Men saw other people exercise on their TV sets but made no efforts themselves to get fit. God created nutritious potatoes but the Devil made chips and pav vadas out of it. With a packet of fried chips and a remote, humans sat on a bed and watched TV and the size of their butts just went on increasing. Humans went on eating chips and pizzas and burgers and their cholesterol level went on increasing; in the end humans got heart attack due to blockage in the artery.

What can even the mighty God do now? Nothing. But he never gave up saving his humans. For the survival of the humans, he taught them the bypass surgery. Yet the Devil did not give up! He waited for the humans to come out of the hospital. He waited till humans got well. He waited so that he could once again put the humans into his vicious cycle.

It is about time that the humans understand!
How far can God help humans? Try to throw away the Devil inside you.

Multiply a Number by 11 in Your Head

Do you get frustrated when your teacher asks you to multiply big numbers by 11?
This is the simplest way you can multiply any number by 11 using nothing but your mind.

Case 1 : 2 digit number (addition result<10) x 11
[e.g. 1]
14 x 11

Put 1 and 4 leaving a gap in between – 1 4

Add 1 and 4
1 + 4 = 5

Put 5 between 1 and 4.

Therefore,
14 x 11 = 154

[e.g. 2]
63 x 11

Put 6 and 3 leaving a gap in between – 6 3

Add 6 and 3
6 + 3 = 9

Put 9 between 6 and 3.

Therefore,
63 x 11 = 693

Case 2 : 2 digit number (addition result>10) x 11
[e.g. 1]
55 x 11

Put 5 and 5 leaving a gap in between – 5 5

Add 5 and 5
5 + 5 = 10

Put 10 between 5 and 5.
Add the 1 in the tens place of 10 to 5 of the tens place of 55.

Therefore,
55 x 11
= (5+1)05
= 605

[e.g. 2]
94 x 11

Put 9 and 4 leaving a gap in between – 9 4

Add 9 and 4
9 + 4 =13

Put 13 between 9 and 4.
Add the 1 in the tens place of 13 to 9 in the tens place of 94.

Therefore,
94 x 11
= (9+1)34
= 1034

This trick can be used on any number when multiplying by 11. Isn’t it great?
